“Se donner du mal pour les petites choses, c’est parvenir aux grandes, avec le temps.” (Samuel Beckett) –
To fight for the small things means to reach the big ones with time.
Emmanuel (Manu) Laplace, at his forge in Thiers, makes unique pocket knives with a love for detail.
knife making is in his blood, his great-grandfather, Gaston Cognet, is the creator of Douk Douk.
His inspiration comes from goldsmiths and weapon engravers, among others.
Knives from Atelier 1515 are characterized by excellent workmanship and high functionality – combined with a timelessly elegant design.
The name 1515 goes back to a special event in French history, the victory in the battle of Marignano under King Franz I.
