In recent years his focus has shifted from fixed knives and swords to folding knives.

He likes to experiment with the materials used:

The company WE Knives together with Gudy van Poppel has released his Ferox model.

Gudy van Poppel has refined a few of them with a special finish and added a custom bead to each knife.
