Midgards-Messer EDC Kukri – Ochre

The new Kukri from Midgards is the first EDC with a thickness of 3 mm, which makes the knife extremely light in combination with the FRN handle scales. It is also the first model with the brand new MM Viking Steel Hybrid Cryo steel.

The Pocket Kukri is the perfect everyday companion and with its wide blade, despite its low weight and size, it is also perfect for rougher work. A geometric pattern with the MM logo in the middle is emblazoned on the handle to visually enhance the knife. The knife is secured with a backlock. Thanks to the clip, it can be easily attached to a belt or trouser pocket, where it is quickly accessible.

The new MM Viking Steel Hybrid Cryo is a good choice for anyone looking for a corrosion-resistant, tough and wear-resistant steel. Thanks to Böhler’s modern technologies in Austria, such as the cross-rolling process, this steel achieves a very pure and homogeneous microstructure, which forms the properties that are actually only found in powder metallurgical steels.
The composition of this new steel ensures that the cutting bevel retains its edge for a long time. After hardening, the steel is also subjected to cryogenic treatment. This means that each individual blade is cooled in liquid nitrogen at approx. 180 degrees below zero, which further increases the wear resistance.
Despite this, the steel is very good-natured when re-sharpened, so with this new formula a durable but surprisingly easy to machine high-performance steel has been developed by Böhler in collaboration with Midgards Messer.
