The Veleno FX-596 dagger revisits a project commissioned in 2022 by the Carabinieri’s Special Intervention Group (GIS).

The GIS was established on February 6, 1978, in response to the rise in terrorist activities and threats to public order and safety in Italy. Originally composed of members of the 1st Carabinieri Paratroopers Battalion “Tuscania,” access to the unit is now granted exclusively through a competitive selection process.

Today, the unit is responsible for counter-terrorism and anti-guerrilla operations in Italy. With its dual role as both a Special Forces unit and a specialized police force, the GIS continuously evolves its training and capabilities to effectively address modern asymmetric threats. Their motto reflects this philosophy: “In Singuli Virtute Aciei Vis” (the strength of the group lies in the abilities of the individual).

The Veleno design is inspired by a reinterpretation of their ceremonial dagger (originally the Mark II produced by Gerber, now discontinued) and is presented using premium, carefully selected materials.
