Laco has a long history of manufacturing professional pilot watches. In the 1940s, this traditional company was one of a handful of select suppliers of so-called observation watches. To this day, these robust and precise timepieces are highly sought after by collectors and serve as models for the current Laco pilot watches.
The “Naples 39” and “Palermo 39” reflect the traditional pilot watch design, but add a distinctly modern and elegant touch with their bright orange numerals, indices, and hands on a black background. With their sophisticated color combination, both watches not only cut a fine figure in the cockpit, but also exude charm in everyday life and in a business environment. The contemporary 39 mm stainless steel case with a slim bezel frames the large dial, which – as befits a pilot’s watch – displays the time at a glance in all lighting conditions.
The “Naples” features the simple A dial, which is characterized by a large hour circle and the pilot’s watch triangle at the 12 o’clock position. In the historical predecessors, the triangle ensured that the wearer of the watch could recognize the position of the hands at “12” with just a glance, even in poor visibility and flight conditions or in stressful situations. The two dots also made it easier to set the time precisely, even in difficult visibility conditions.
