The Fontani cutlery is the last artisan workshop to have been formed in Scarperia, the Fontani family, already resident in Scarperia at the end of ‘700, counts among its ancestors many Master Knife Makers. Unfortunately, as it happened for many Scarperiesi families, the craft of the “coltellinajo” or the “scissorsman”, handed down from father to son, was abandoned over time, until today, Alessandro is the last knife maker of the Fontani family, and is also the youngest Master Knifemaker of Scarperia, the last to have formed within the walls of the ancient vicariate.
